Love is like the wild rose-briar, friendship like the holly-tree. The holly is dark when the rose-briar blooms, but which will bloom most constantly?

Love is like a river, never ending as it flows, but gets greater with time.

Love is not enough. It must be the foundation, the cornerstone, but not the complete structure. It is much too pliable, too yielding.

Dear Friends of BBC Heaven,

Wednesday saw a record in the number of visitors, page impressions and comments respectively.

Therefore, I wonder whether it wouldn't be more appropriate to rebrand BBC Heaven as a haven of love and Princess Diana related stories, instead of boring geopolitics?

Or shall I just join in by saying: Offrir l'amitié à qui veut l'amour, c'est donner du pain à qui meurt de soif.
